Distinguished Lecturer, Dennis Mammana

MammanaFor more than three decades, Dennis Mammana has shared the wonder and mystery of the cosmos with audiences around the world. With a B.A. in physics from Otterbein College, and an M.S. in astronomy from Vanderbilt University, Mammana has held positions at the Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum, the University of Arizona in Tucson, and the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater in San Diego.

He is the author of six books on astronomy, hundreds of popular magazine and encyclopedia articles and, for the past seven years, has written Stargazers, the only nationally syndicated weekly newspaper column on astronomy.

As an accomplished sky photographer, Mammana's award-winning images have appeared around the world in articles, books, newspapers, websites and television. His unique photography captures the motion, majesty and mystery of the cosmos, and can be enjoyed online at his website www.skyscapes.com.

To share his knowledge and enthusiasm for the cosmos, Mammana serves as astronomical and photographic lecturer on many public comet-, meteor shower-, and eclipse-observing expeditions around the world. And, as a dynamic public speaker, he has entertained and informed audiences on six continents-at resorts, on cruise ships, as an after-dinner speaker, and on both radio and television.
